2010 Komen Southeast Wisconsin Race for the Cure

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series, the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world, raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. Since its inception in 1983, the Komen Race for the Cure series has grown from one local Race with 800 participants to a global series of more than 120 Races with more than 1 million people expected to participate in 2010.

Esmeralda

Inspired by Victor Hugo’s classic novel Notre-Dame de Paris, Michael Pink’s emotionally-charged performance follows the beautiful young gypsy, Esmeralda, in 15th century Paris who tragically finds herself trapped between her natural desires and the confinement of the church. This suspenseful story and highly-theatrical production features period costumes and scenery design by Lez Brotherston, and a lively new lighting design from Emmy Award winner David Grill. Dancers from Milwaukee Ballet II join the Company in this thrilling show accompanied by Philip Feeney’s dramatic score performed live by the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra. This performance is best enjoyed by patrons age ten and older.
