The 2013 - 2014 Pfister Narrator
In this role, she will spend time in the hotel’s lobby and public spaces, speaking with visitors and guests and sharing their stories on The Pfister’s award-winning blog (blog.thepfisterhotel.com).
“It’s such an honor to meet new people and tell their stories,” said Kashou. “I can’t wait to catalog all the intriguing characters at The Pfister.”
A Milwaukee native and freelance writer, Kashou has published in local publications such as Milwaukee Magazine, M Magazine and the Shepherd Express. Find her weekly adventures of city life as MilwaukeeMag.com's ‘Girl About Town.’ Kashou earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in mass communications and Spanish, and a graduate certificate in digital storytelling from Marquette University. By day, she is a grant writer for Radio Milwaukee and has worked in the nonprofit sector in arts and education for 10 years. In her spare time, she enjoys dabbling in everything from being a DJ and photography to do-it-yourself deco, yoga and rock climbing.
Kashou was chosen to serve as narrator based on her writing style, professional experience and personality. She was selected from a pool of qualified applicants by a review panel consisting of local writers, editors and representatives from the hotel. She will be replacing Dasha Kelly, who has been blogging for the hotel since May. Kashou will begin her residency as narrator the week of Nov. 1, 2012.
“Dasha’s enthusiasm, creativity and captivating blog entries will certainly be missed,” said Joe Kurth, general manager of The Pfister Hotel. “It’s exciting to read stories from the fresh perspective of each new narrator, and we’re looking forward to sharing more of the experiences within The Pfister through Jenna’s eyes.”
The Pfister’s narrator program and blog have been gaining national attention in the hotel industry. The hotel recently received a Social Hotel Award from HOTELS Magazine, a leading industry publication, in the category of ‘Best Blog.’ The inaugural Social Hotel Award winners were recognized for excellence in social media marketing.
Jenna will be sharing the stories of hotel guests and employees on The Pfister Hotel Blog twice a week for the next six months.
